SSR- Student Social Responsibility Project

27th August 2011-5th November 2011 by S5 EEE-B

ACTIVITIES

  1. Created a group in Facebook on 27th August 2011. To visit  Click Here

We started sharing and posting videos and other relevant information on the ill-effects of tobacco. This was followed by both positive and negative response. The intense addiction that tobacco products created in some of the members could be understood from the way they argued and proved their stand on using such products. Some were found to feel guilty, some got provoked and others didn't want to face the real facts behind the danger that this created in their lives. We did lose some members due to this but our journey continued. Our mission is to bring out more facts and reality surrounding this killer product on which today's youngsters ruin their fortune and lives.

    2.  Conducting a Survey
A questionnaire was prepared and distributed among some students of our campus. It had 10 relevant questions which were to be answered within 5 mins ( to get instant and honest answers). Using this data we prepared pie charts displaying the results.

  3. Poster Exhibition ( 2nd November 2011-3rd November 2011)
Posters were downloaded from various sources and many were designed by our team. These were exhibited in our Campus which caught attention from all faculty and students. We also collected feedback during this exhibition.

  4. Experts Talk
We had invited Prof. Murali Vallabhan for an interactive talk with our juniors. He is presently the Professor at  NSS College, Vazhoor. He has presented over 40 papers at various international conferences. Even though he was a Master in Environmental Science, he was able to enlighten the students on our topic.
